What is Pilates?

Pilates is a series of exercises that use both physical and mental techniques to condition the body. Pilates helps build strength, improve posture and increase flexibility.

Who is Pilates suitable for?

Suitable for all ages and abilities it is especially helpful if you suffer from back problems, osteoporosis, ME, MS or pelvic floor problems as well as those recovering from injury or returning to exercise after childbirth, as it aims to rebalance the body improving posture, flexibility and core stability. Also recommended for stress sufferers and first time exercisers with the controlled slow movements relieving tension and improving body awareness.

What should I expect from a Pilates course?
  • Our instructor is qualified through the modern Pilates qualification recognised by the Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 3.
  • Courses will be limited to a number of 15 places to ensure individual and personal attention.
  • Courses run over 6 week periods on a variety of days.
  • Courses include completion of a physical activity readiness questionnaire (PARQ) to allow the course to be tailored to meet your individual health and activity needs.
